About the Role




The Training Supervisor has responsibility for managing, coordinating and supporting the delivery of the training forward program of both public and onsite training events to budget, through performance management of the training administration team. The supervisor is also expected to forward plan and execute scheduled events to BSI Training commercial best practice KPIs and standard of excellence for customer deliver


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages administrative systems and procedures required to support the training business to ensure workloads are planned and the department runs efficiently and delivers to BSI’s standards of customer excellence


  • Responsible for supervising the contracting and coordination of venues to deliver training forward schedule
  • Responsible for supervising the coordination of tutors to deliver training forward schedule
  • Coordinates efforts together with sales, marketing and operations functions to achieve the Training Operations objectives.


  • Maintains and works to BSI’s standard of customer excellence whilst understanding the need to manage cost and achieve budgeted accounts
  • Review continually open course occupancy and take action to protect course profitability as appropriate
  • Coordinates with the Finance department to ensure that the actual costs, revenue and profit are accurately reflected at the end of the month
  • Manages the cover arrangements for all administrative staff during periods of annual leave, sickness and other absence



  • Manages the office environment, with support from the administrative staff in the department, to ensure that it is both safe and orderly in appearance for staff and visitors to the organisation
  • Manages the flow of documentation and correspondence of the departments complaints/compliments system
  • Manages the accreditation and compliance programs and processes to accomplish with external (e.g. Exemplar Global, IRCA, etc.) and internal (BSI global procedures) requirements necessary to deliver courses. (i.e. internal audits, Exemplar Global accreditation maintenance, instructors qualification, etc.)
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, induction, appraisal and training and development of administrative staff
  • Employs BSI’s best practice training systems technology to deliver to BSI standard of customer excellence, including correct usage of Salesforce
  • Monitors and continually improves the efficiency and effectiveness of all administrative processes
  • Ensures that all contractual relationships with key suppliers are maintained continually reviewed and improved in the interests of BSI and its customers.

About You



  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience managing and developing employees within a training department a plus
  • Highly computer literate
  • Able to live and work legally and without restriction in the USA
  • Self-starter with a high motivational drive, resolve problems and achieve objectives


  • Understanding and experience in successfully managing a commercial professional training services business.
  • Proven ability to drive growth in both revenue and profit in a professional training business.
  • Knowledge and experience of cost management for training businesses and budget control.
  • Strong goal-orientation, management by objectives.
  • Consummate communication skills.



    • Excellent organizational skills to control their own workload and that of others
    • Logical and practical approach to problem solving to deal with problems as constructively and swiftly
    • Communicates well to inform, advise and persuade and have the confidence and ability to deal with a wide range of people and situations verbally and in writing, including highly confidential and sensitive material
    • Good written and verbal communication skills to produce, initiate and compose routine correspondence
    • Supervises, leads, guides, motivates administrative staff
    • Understands the values and benefits of teamwork and able to provide support
    • Works on own initiative to manage a varied, often unpredictable, workload
    • Organizes and prioritises own work and that of others in a pressurised environment with competing demands and tight deadlines
    • Develops, manages and reviews office systems, especially those required to organise large amounts of paperwork and correspondence
    • Works with and develops computerised office management tools, including computer diary systems, databases and spreadsheets
    • Experience of commercial operations management, preferably commercial events



  • Moderate travel required.
