We are looking for a leader who can help grow our BSI’s Environmental Remediation practice area in Northern CA. Areas of prior success should include engineering management, business development, construction, staff management and development with experience in developing strategies for environmental projects involving contaminated air, soil, groundwater, and/or hazardous waste handling.
The position will oversee environmental projects, set budgets, project reporting, purchase requisitions, project schedule, equipment/crew usage, and project closure activities. Strong positive interaction with BSI staff, regulators, clients, and subcontractors and field supervisors would be necessary. Position may also act as a direct supervisor for junior level staff.
Our ideal candidate will have a successful history working for key clients, and a strong current network of contacts in California to leverage into new work. Business development responsibilities will include identifying opportunities at existing and new clients, making presentations, attending local association meetings, and scoping projects.
Hands-on project management experience is required including safely remediating petroleum hydrocarbons, solvents, metals, landfill gases and semi-volatile compounds as well as decommissioning and facilities closure. Familiarity with groundwater pump and treat systems, vapor extraction, stormwater treatment systems, demolition and decommissioning, and soil excavation disposal methods is also required.
The position requires regulatory knowledge in applying soil, air and water permit processes, stormwater management, Underground and Aboveground tank permitting, spill pollution control and countermeasures (SPCC) and waste classification/disposal requirements. Responsible for project planning and execution of selected remedy, including, the development of conceptual designs, work plans, permits, quality control programs and construction management including planning and scheduling, materials procurement, equipment selection, invoicing and cost control.
