    This could be your ideal job if you are excited about emergency planning and preparedness and have 3-5 years of experience in emergency management or business continuity, and are interested in the dynamic world of consulting. You should have a degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Administration, or related field (or relevant experience). In this role you will be working either on site at one of our client locations as an extension of their Safety/Security organization and/or working on a variety of consulting projects from BSI’s offices in Northern or Southern California. Projects are variable and challenging.
     
    The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strengths in one or more of the following areas:
    • Incident Command Structure (ICS) principles
    • Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) methodologies
    • Continuity of Operations (COOP) principles
    • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards
    • Hazard identification
    • Risk Assessment
    • Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) or Emergency Action Plan (EAP) development
    • Business Continuity Planning and development
    • Development of Emergency Management or Business Continuity programs either independently or with support from more experienced consultants
    •  Scheduling meetings and working with client employees directly in a professional manner.
    • Providing employee education and coaching in safe work practices to prevent injury and illness.
    • Supporting Emergency Management and Business Continuity Team development
    • Developing and delivering Emergency Management and Business Continuity training
    • Developing and/or executing emergency drills or exercises
    • Emergency Management or Business Continuity assessments/general program compliance audits
    • Writing technical reports

    About You

    Ideally you will have 3-5 years of experience including:
    • Writing or supporting development of emergency plans
    • Writing or supporting development of business continuity plans
    • Previous consulting experience
    • Developing or conducting drills and exercises of different sizes and scopes
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to gather and organize data from multiple sources
    • Ability to plan and implement projects
    • May be required to work with or in an environment that contains chemicals or hazardous materials
    • Basic computer skills, with experience in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    Preferred skills/experience
    • Working knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards for Emergency Management
    • Familiarity with WebEOC, E-TEAM, Veoci or other incident management software
    • Familiarity with OnSolve, Everbridge, RAVE, or other emergency notification tools
    • Emergency response/First Responder
    • Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) or Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) certification
    • Other emergency management or business continuity certifications will be considered, such as CHEP, CEDP, MBCI, or any certification from Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI).

    • Ability to support clients throughout Northern or Southern California (depending on primary office location), but may be required to travel to other areas occasionally
