    Our Gulf Coast region is looking for an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Consultant with at least seven years of experience in air permitting, compliance, modeling, and audits who is highly motivated by the cultivation of long-term and mutually-rewarding relationships with clients and business partners. This position can be located in a BSI office in Austin, Texas or The Woodlands, Texas or other areas throughout the Gulf Coast Region.
    This position will provide technical leadership, mentor staff, manage staff, manage projects and clients, and conduct business development activities. Responsibilities will be split between technical environmental consulting, business development, project management, and client management. The expectations of this position include:
    • Experience managing air permitting projects, compliance auditing, and strategic regulatory analysis for a variety of industries
    • Preparing, evaluating, and conducting peer reviews of permit applications and environmental documents
    • Client and regulatory interaction, including negotiations with state and federal agencies
    • Calculation or air emissions
    • Regulatory applicability and compliance evaluations
    • Air dispersion modeling and auditing
    • Solid technical, business development, and relationship building skills
    • Proficiency at project management and internal customer management
    • Ability to train and develop staff capabilities
    • Knowledge of Gulf Coast state-specific air regulations and prior successful air permitting
    • Identification of Best Available Control Technology (BACT) requirements for various industries
    • Critical thinking ability  

    About You

    Education and experience:
    • BS in Engineering or Chemistry (or related field)
    • Prior consulting experience required
    • Thorough knowledge of Gulf Coast Region state-specific air regulations required
    • Prior successful permitting in the NSR, PSD, and Title V program required
