  • About the Role

    BSI EHS Services and Solutions' Manhattan office is seeking a professional, persistent, and diligent Billing Coordinator. He/she will be responsible for preparing and issuing timely and accurate invoices, and credits as necessary, to BSI customers. 


    Essential Responsibilities:


    • Maintain notes and procedures for research related to Clients and the utilization of Master Data and related Systems (i.e. QuickBooks, Excel, E-mail, etc.)
    • Invoice clients for professional/consulting services utilizing QuickBooks
    • Maintain billing tables in Excel as a basis for Client invoices
    • Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
    • Prepare itemized statements, bills, or invoices and record amounts due for items services rendered
    • Keep records of invoices and support documents
    • Track project budgets based on contracted amounts to determine if Purchase Orders (POs)/Change Orders are required to request an increase to the initial approved project budget
    • Facilitate the payment of customer debt through positive customer service
    • Resolve discrepancies in accounting records
    • Provide information to clients and internal personnel by answering questions and requests
    • Timeliness of tasks, reports and projects
    • Accuracy of information and projects completed
    • Request and review accuracy of sub-contractor invoices for services provided
    • Persuasive and tactfully able to speak with clients regarding debt
    • Ability to collect money by timely follow-up with customers (persistent follow through)
    • Assist with month end close, financial audits, other compliance related tasks
    • Support the Finance/Accounting team by assisting with any ad-hoc projects and reporting requirements

    About You

    This position is ideal for a reliable and independent individual with 1-5 years of Accounting experience who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This full-time, hourly position has a 40 hour Monday-Friday work schedule with occasional overtime required. 



    • College degree preferred; High School diploma with equivalent business experience will be considered
    • Prior professional experience working in an Accounting/Finance Department preferred, but not required
    • Corporate collection experience a plus
    • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
    • Knowledge of relevant computer applications
    • Proficient in data entry and management
